and everyone's just so intimately rearranged

Steve Madden shoes, Urban Renewal shorts, vintage shirt, Lucky bracelets
Wandered the Lower East with my cousin Jenn today. We had a late lunch at Bodhi Tree, a yummy little Thai restaurant in the East Village (58 3rd avenue.) The service, food, and atmosphere were great.

Raided Strand for some summer reading -- the sidewalk sale has a great selection of books for $1 each, I bought two armfuls of memoirs -- before heading down to St. Mark's then over to some vintage stores to do a bit of damage. I'm about to start packing to head back up to Ithaca...I'm not sure if I'm more excited that I'm heading back or sad that I'm leaving the city so soon.

Channeling Deadmau5. Kimchi Blue dress + cardigan, misc. vintage bracelets, UO necklace
Shrek Forever After was TOO cute. I'd love to run away and become a forest creature.

i've never wanted ACNE more desperately.

ACNE Atacoma Gray (SS10) and Admire
Obsessed. Unfortunately, still under a self-imposed shoe ban until winter (really just holding out for some of the boots in the Burberry Prorsum FW 10/11 and the heels in McQueen's final collection) so these are most likely never going to make their way into my closet.

Spent the day shopping for anything rustic, sheer, lacy, and nude (think Chanel SS10) -- traipsed from the Upper East Side through Nolita and everywhere around Soho before winding back up to Union Square to hop on the train and head home, a mess of bags and frizzy hair.

Realized the other night that I only have a little over a week left before I head back up so I need to mentally prepare myself for months of separation anxiety from Manhattan. As much as I love Cornell, it's a huge change of pace. Ithaca is a bubble; it's so isolated. Definitely an interesting experience for college, but I'm not sure I'd ever be able to permanently live somewhere like that.

she was a girl with a string around her neck

From today's shoot with Marc
Craving: wild passion with a dash of romance and liberal doses of chemistry.

it sounds like we would have had a great deal to say to each other

In the city for a few weeks before I have to head up to Ithaca again. It's crazy being here and seeing all of my friends from high school again.. I haven't been in New York City since Christmas. Wandering through SoHo gets me so nostalgic.

her real depths are romantic and illogical

"I simply state that I'm a product of a versatile mind in a restless generation — with every reason to throw my mind and pen in with the radicals. Even if, deep in my heart, I thought we were all blind atoms in a world as limited as a stroke of a pendulum, I and my sort would struggle against tradition; try, at least, to displace old cants with new ones. I've thought I was right about life at various times, but faith is difficult. One thing I know. If living isn't seeking for the grail it may be a damned amusing game."

A year in review.

we're done, but it's not over

Looks like Marcel Castenmiller (who came with Pete to visit Kelly) snuck into a few of our Slope Day pictures. Slope Day, which annually signifies the end of classes, passed almost two weeks ago. Drake was supbar, but I don't think I really expected more.

Currently in the middle of finals. I've been strangely calm until three days ago but now I'm obscenely jittery and I can't help but feel incredibly helpless because I've been on Adderall and haven't slept for a solid 55 hours.

music is my sun and you're blocking my light

“Something deep down tells me that we are all semi-paralysed. And we die without so much as an explanation. And worst of all – we live without so much as an explanation…A whole world of semi-paralysed human beings. And everyone waiting in vain for a miracle.”

fashion, put it all on me

Yesterday, was the 26th annual Cornell Design League fashion show. I walked for a first year designer and a fourth year designer. First years are allowed one piece in the show while fourth years can have a full line of up to eleven pieces. Designers who submit to CDL design and typically sew their pieces with no outside help (there were a few collaborations), which takes months and months. Some of the final products were truly amazing. I was really honored that Matt and Emily, a first and a fourth year respectively, asked me to model for them. They're both so talented and I can't wait to see what they come up with in the future!

Pictures from the earlier parts of the show haven't come out yet and I only have this shot from backstage. Matt went all out and made three pieces (high waist shorts, a beautiful blouse, and a coat) and I, along with a lot of his fellow fashion majors, honestly think he is one of the most talented designers in his year. Coming up with and executing this (he spent so much time sewing) took so much effort but everything ended up looking stunning and professionally made. More pictures to come!

when the lights start flashing

I can't believe this year, New York's Autumn-Winter fashion week is starting off with Alexander McQueen's death. McQueen's beautiful avant garde creations have always been an amazing source of inspiration for me. I'm completely floored; I can't imagine why such a brilliant man would take his life now, at such a high point in his career, or ever.

RIP Lee Alexander McQueen, 02/11/10

everything we do is off the record

American Apparel dress, vintage blazer, vintage necklace

Wore a pretty musical necklace - it literally sounded like chimes were following me around everywhere. I'm currently in love with thigh high boots. LOVE
